Brendan wanted the most bang for the buck, basically.

Brendan's took about 8 six man-hour shifts, for the work that involved
the car, including moving the battery and doing the center support, and
lots of cheez doodle and cigarette breaks.  Rebuilding the engine
consumed a similar amount of time, but waiting for things to be done and
finding the time for us to do the work made it spread out over a couple
of months.  Of course the car was up for that time.
