You arent going to discourage me, I am set on doing this conversion. It is
not a matter of IF, but WHEN. I have been planing and gathering info for
the past two years. I know you cant plan enought for a project like this. I
know the time and money involved, but a 4000cs 20v turbo quattro would be
one bada#% mechine.

I have plenty of space to work in at my parents house, plus would like to
take on this project with my father. make it a father son thing. Not
married, but am in a serious relationship, so family factors dont really
play a role. girlfriend is not against the long project, she know it will
make me happy and I would most likely do it without her support. she may
even be able to help a little. Trying to ger her interested in audis.
convinced her to but an 87 5000 turbo quattro as her daily driver, and she
now loves it.

I understand the availabilty of the 4kq's but always keep an eye out when
driving. Like to stop when I see one for sale, also fun to talk to fellow
audi owmers.

Right now there is one for sale in the audifans marketplace under parts for
$4500 and am deep into the planing. Idealy I'd like to find a wrecked
200/s4/s6 91-96 3b.

Will not opt for the 10v dont want to be like everyone else. a 20v will
turn up sooner or later in my price range.

I agree. keeping my eye out for the right chassis. must be 86-87 cs

Of coure, with that much power you need to up grade the brakes for the the
safty of the car, yourself and others. I will most likely be going with a
porsche kit.

yup, would go with 2Bs 3" for turo converted cars. They have a down pipe
which would eleminate the
bending in of the passenger side floor pan for the 4k or 5k down pipe. I
believe a urq will bolt up, but ends 2 inches futher to the rear. but the
cat is 2 inches shorter. 2B also has an aluminum heavy duth radiator.

>And you will want to upgrade the suspension while you have it apart.

Been comparing three brands, Bilstein, H&R and Elbach. Decided on the
Bildteins.
   Then, you will want to

I understand the time and money involved that I why I am not in any rush.
Will shop around and find the best deals possiable. I not going to try to
pull this off in under 6 months like some other have done. This will be my
ongoing project for how ever long it takes to complete. I expect 3-5 years.
Will be my hobbie. Will do as much of the work as possiably my self so
there wont be alot of labor fees. A 20v conversion my sound like alot of
money up front, but spread out over several years its not that bad. And I
know I can do it cause I have a love for the cars (audis).

I have a very reliable 1990 100s auto with 133k on it. It has been my
daily driver for two years. Will continue to drive this during my project.
The project car will not be driven at all.

It is possiable to keep the AC put requites custom work. I hear it is
easier to keep the AC on a 20v conversion. Dont know If I will keep it or
not? This car will not ever be my daily driver, It will mostly be my summer
car. Would also like to start attending audi events/shows and want to get
it on the track

I am well into the planing and will continue gathering info.
Would appreaciate and help the list can offer like links, things to watch
out for, BTDTs, instructions/steps/recipie, people that have comlpeted the
conversion, ect...
Would love to have some of the listers in the North East to help. I would
plan some BBQ weekends ang get a bunch of audi lovers together. Would love
to meet some of you guys, share stories, pick your brains, and learn more
audi stuff

Thanks for and help you can contribute.
