And that's the best illustration of why our gas prices are where they
are. When many, many folks in the US choose 10 mpg vehicles as their
daily transportation, what's $1.50 or $2.00 per gallon? In fact, to them
what difference would it make if the price were $5.00 gallon? Likely
none. So long as the price of gas is viewed that way by many, I can't
fault OPEC for wanting higher prices.
