Uh, well, here in the USA, we hear about those fabulous Polish women and
Vodka, and, well, it affects our thinking!  (Or some other lame excuse).

Some US police organizations are trying to implement phototrap usage.  But
action by the AAA and other groups, has resulted in a grass roots effort to
ban the photo trap.

In contrast, in the US, we can afford the Diesel car.  We just cannot
purchase one, other than the VW-TDI, because of Governmental interference.
(The anti-Diesel coalition in America doesn't help either).

It seems to me that your government is taking lessions from our government.
