Brake repairs - basic question..

Is it a problem if brake fluid gets on the brake pads?

I'm replacing front pads and rotors, incl new PBR Deluxe pads.  I picked up
one of the pads with what I thought was a clean rag, but it had brake fluid
on it.  It left a wet mark on about half the pad, and a couple of hours
later it still looks wet.  I'm afraid the pad might be ruined. 
Will it be OK?  

I'm doing subframe bushings, struts, etc, and expect it will be awhile
before I finish installing the brakes.  So I have time to cope with the
pad/brake fluid if there's something I need to do about.  This is on an 87
5ks.
