Assuming you can get cheap access to a press:

a. Get inner and outer boot kits (both come with bolts, grease and can
be
got for reasonable money). I actually got some OE kits with the
axle bolt for less than the bolt from the dealer! Oh and get the
gaskets
which go between the surface of the CV joint and the transmission
mounting
flange, these are about $2.50 from the dealer... they may have to
order them.

b. Remove the shaft completely

c. Remove the inner CV, don't forget to remove the circlip, You would
be best
to use a press to get the inner CV race off although I have done it
without.

d. Pull both inner/outer boots off the inside (i.e. no need to spend
hours trying get the #%^@ external CV joint off).

e. Take apart and Clean all the bits (get a few rolls of paper shop
towel....
    you will need them).

f. Assemble everything. Getting the CV back together can be a bit of
bother, try
to note how things are assembled for reference before you tear into
it! A pair
of tile cutters with ground down cutter surfaces make excellent CV
clip pliers
to help put on the sealing bands.

Cheers
