Slushbox or manual tranny (is it a turbo or a quattro)?  The 87 5ktq's have
equal length front CV axles, but I think the slushers have unequal length
axles.

A little advice:

1. The bolts on the inner CV joint to the tranny are triple square, _not_
Torx.  Get the right bit first.

2. Clean out the interior splines of said triple square with a pick (or some
other tool) before inserting bit.  Drilling out rounded heads is not fun.

3. Do not use the crappy CV boot kit from Wal Mart, you know, one size fits
none.  Go OE if you can.

4. When rebooting, remember: cleanliness is a virtue.  And Audis love
virtuous people.
