It sounds like the car is running lean. Since you've replaced worn hoses and
are sure there is no vacuum leaks, and the fuel pump is not noisy? I would
then start by checking the computer codes by shorting the fuel pump relay
with a fuse. Record faults and start there. Use the list for details, trying
to keep this post concise.
If no faults are stored, then I would next measure the current passing
through you're differential pressure regulator by hooking the meter in
series. You're car is probable CIS III. The current should vary around 0
milliamps when warm. Higher when cold (Richer). If it does not match when
cold check the temp sensor mounted on the coolant intake to the cylinder
head. It has the two prong, rectangular connector. At operating temperature
it should be ~ 130 ohms. 68 degrees should be ~ 1000 ohms. The colder, the
more resistance. If it matches then this is not you're problem and you
should next move on to the idle stabilization system.
