This engine was also used in the Japanese-market Nissan-built VW Santana (aka
Passat and Quantum). It had 160 hp and was VWs fastest and strongest car in
1988, as this was before the G60 and VR6. We had a New Zealand lister here that
got hold of one of these engines, you still here? I think he wanted spares for
his 90 20V

Italians also had a Ferrari 328 2.0T that had a Lancia 2-liter turbo engine. In
return for the favour, Lancia got to place the Ferrari V8 in their Thema sedan,
known as the Lancia Thema 8.32

Audi on the same theme: you could get the 100 C4 with a 1.6/75 hp gas engine in
Italy. Just to avoid too many taxes. The A4 1.6/100 hp is very popular in
Norway, as it is a small engine. Just to avoid too many taxes.
