K-26 side-to-side play

Hi gang,

Just though I'd solicit the list advice on my K-26
turbo that came off a 1987 Audi turbo FWD.

I inspected the turbo this morning and found that it
has about 1 mm of side-to-side play in the shaft. No
in-and-out play though.

The Benteley spec is 0.5 mm I believe for this type of
play.  

So should I take a chance on this turbo, find another
one or send it to the rebuilders ? The third option is
probably more expense than I can handle at the moment.
