Turbo Conversion MC Cleaning

Hello Listers,

I am in the process of putting together an MC engine for installation into
my 4kq. The water pump, seals, belt, pulley, etc. are all being replaced
but a rebuild is not in the plan due to cost and the robust nature of the
MC. The engine has 130k on it and is "sludgier" inside the case than some
other engines I've opened. The 5ktq that I pulled it from ran fine.

My question is this. Is it worth disassembling the whole bottom end and
having the parts hot-tanked? Or, will that can of worms just cost a lot of
time and $$$ and be of small benefit? The last time I took that route I
ended up replacing pistons, having the connecting rods rebuilt, etc., etc.,
etc.

I noticed on 2Bennett's web site that they don't rebuild the bottom end when
they do the 4ktq conversion.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris
