My Bilstein BROKE!!!

I'm not clear on what broke. This occurred when I was having all work done
on my cars performed by others. I went around a corner, heard a loud bang
and pulled immediately into a parking lot, and the rear of the car was
close to rubbing on the fender on one side. I could see the body of the
shock off on one side. I'm not certain, but I think the circular part the
bolt goes through had broken off the rest of the shock. The wrecker driver
had a heck of a time getting the car onto the flatbed. The mechanic told
me the bottom of the shock had broken off.
