I think you're describing the AT Italia S5. They look like a cross
between the Avus wheel and the stock C5 Corvette wheel, IMHO.

The 9-spoke 17" sport package wheel on the '01.5 A4s is very nice
indeed. It's a real shame that they're only 7.5" wide and have
an offset of ET45, otherwise I would get a set for my 200q.

They're really pretty, I agree- too bad the only ones in an 8", ET35
offset are 18" or 20", part of Leigh's euro GP a little while ago.
