... no BTDT on such a new car, but the cars with climate control since the
mid '80s had built-in diagnostics, and IME the most common failure has to do
with the actuation of the temperature regulation flap ... no matter whether
that be via Bowden cable or the motor mounted directly on the air box.
I'll bet the service documentation for the A6 describes the method by which
the climate control codes can be read via the "head" unit ...
