after run fan control unit location?

Huw, I had checked the thermoswitch by shorting the leads, and I get
nothing. I am suspecting that either the relay is fried, or that the
afterrun fan control unit is dead. Tony Lum told me which relay it was, by
the part number, but I don't know where the actual control unit for the fan
is. I looked at the archives, and there are several posts mentioning that
the control unit was bad, but none mentioning the location of it. The
Bentley shows it in the wiring diagram, (there are three parts in the
afterrun circuit, the relay, the thermoswitch, and the control unit) but I
can't find any other mention of it, or a location.
Thanks!

the sender is on a little metal bracket mounted at the back of the head
to a couple of the cam cover studs. You can pull the wires and short
them to test the relays/wiring/fan function, and you can heat it up with
a propane torch (careful! I would only do this on someone else's car!)
to see if the sender works at all.
