In need of an MC head, and another question

Speaking of valves there has been some talk of not using the sodium
filled valves but using SS valves for the exhaust side. Something about
the sodium valves having a weld that breaks killing the engine, A guy in
the NW just replaced an engine, and had the head done with SS valves for
this reason.

Cool, this applies to me as well. I saw the cracks and thought the head
was finished, never even thought of checking the manual to see if this
is acceptable. As per the Bentley; "cracks between the valve seats or
between valve seat and first threads of the spark plug holes, can be
reused and refaced without reducing the service life if the cracks do
not exceed a width of 0.5mm (0.020").
Guess I just need valves then, that's a load off. I hope.
