the MBQ's seem to have a bad reputation for being bright.. FWIW, they just
need a notch filter to attenuate an unfortunate ring near the tweeter's
resonant frequency. I think the competition crossovers may incorporate this
circuit but if anyone is interested, I can email you a parts list (<$10
worth of caps, inductors, and resistors) I came up with while experimenting
a couple years ago.
