LAC - Video Camera Recommendations for Rally / Track Use?

OK.  We've got the Bemidji, MN ProRally coming up this weekend and I'm
tired of not being able to review our mistakes.  So it's time to buy a
video camera to mount inside the car.  Since the driver's not paying we'll
be working from my limited budget.  I'm looking for anyone's BTDT
recommendations on format (Hi8, Digital8, mDV and others) and actual camera
models.

I have to use an SCCA approved roll-cage mounting system which has some
rubber type shock absorbsion but not a whole lot. So image stabilization is
probably important.

I intend to put some of the video out there for web consumption...

Opinions are appreciated.  Use your judgement on private versus list
responses.
