BLUPUNKT RADIO IN 90' COUPE

I tried to install a Blaupunkt radio in my 90' coupe.
The connectors are the same as the original Audi radio.
It doesn't turn on, like there was no power getting to it.
I had that Blaupunkt radio in my 94' Passat and the factory radio had the 
same connectors as well.
When I connected the Audi radio in the Passat it wouldn't turn on.
Is there some kind of voltage difference between Audi radios and 
aftermarket.
