Type-$$ AC compressor grenaded

That's the Nippondenso 10P17C compressor. When I was looking for one, the
best price I found was at Blau. Still expensive. Don't get a 4 Seasons
rebuilt one - very bad reports on A/C bulletin boards. AC Delco usually has
good stuff. Don't put a used one in there without resealing it. They are
notorious leakers, especially around the manifold and front and rear seals.
A reseal kit is cheap. But you might need a special tool to get the clutch
off and to get into the compressor. You will need special snap ring pliers.

If you grenaded the compressor, you will need to replace the dryer and the
orifice tube/valve and flush the system. Not expensive. You will also need
to do that in order to validate the compressor warranty. If you're going to
do that, you might as well switch over to R-134a at the same time
