yeah, something is wrong.  have you checked anything at all yet? 
Spark?  Fuel?  it might be tough, but you might as well figure out which
one you lose first if you can.

idle switch working?

NTC sender for CIS good?

intake manifold grounds... vacuum lines... and all the other "usual
suspects" ok?
