Why I drive an Audi

I first owned a Yellow 1975 100LS FI Gas Auto 4dr back in 1978. I bought
it for my former wife to have a luxury safe sedan, as we could not afford
the equivalent size Mercedes at the time. When my sister-in-law and my
wife did a comparison between the sister's Mercedes (same size except
diesel) and our Audi, they both preferred the Audi's performance.
Unfortunately circumstances arose that I had to sell that car in 1987. I
later bought the Gold 1983 5000 Turbo Gas Auto 4dr in 1990, that we now
have, again for the same reason. This Audi was used as our wedding
Limosuine in 1992 and we had ample room in the back with her full gown.
With only having this car strand my present wife once in seven years (warm
up regulator failure), we have loved the car. We stopped driving it when
the catalytic convertor caused backpressure problems (did not know this was
the problem until joining this list this year) about 3 years ago since we
could not get any help on it, and I did not want to ruin the car. A friend
suggested we test drive a 1992 Cadillac in 1998 but the salesman and the
friend were quite surprised when my wife remarked that the Audi drove and
rode better than the Cadillac. For the comfort and safety and handling, I
would not trade it away.
