Why I drive an Audi

There have been three cars I've lusted after in my life.  Oh, there have 
been others I thought were nicely designed, such as the BMW 3.0CSi and that 
sleek little Volvo coupe from around 1973 or so and a few others, but only 
three I've lusted after, and all came out before I could drive:
    Porsche 944
    Audi Quattro (now we call it the UrQ)
    Lotus Turbo Espirit

I special-ordered my first Audi, a '97 A4Q 2.8 stick, sight unseen.  I 
never even had a chance to drive an Audi quattro OR stick before buying it; 
just an A4 2.8 automatic FWD.  Two months later my dream car showed up, 
with much of the interior styling of the 944 I loved, the Quattro of the 
UrQ, decent performance, and a respectable business-like look that fits 
into my life.  Reliability was dreadful, but probably better than the 
lust-cars on my list.

I now drive a 2000 S4.  Reliability is still not very good, but I am 
addicted to Audis.  Best engineered driving around, pity they seem to be 
assembled by drunken frenchmen.
