I found this amusing...I have the inverse of this. Being an Audi fanatic
myself my wife wants anything but an Audi. Consequently she drives a
Volvo (hence my lurking prsence on Lee's Volvo list).

Still thinking about all the reasons why I drive an Audi. One I can
mention right away is that I am reminded why I drive an Audi every time
I drive my wife's Volvo ;-) Interesting that we have bought one each
(Audi and Volvo) of aproximately the same ages from orginal owners with
all records. Guess which car has the thicker pile of ($$$$$)
receipts...the 1987 type$$ 5kcstq or the so-called ever reliable and
bullet proof 1985 245DL??? Any guesses? Time's up. The type$$, believe
it or not, has had the lower cost of ownership (not counting
depreceation and I actualy paid less for the Audi than the Volvo used
anyway) over the life of the car. They really ain't all that bad when ya
get a good one and keep after them (and to date I have owned 7 good ones
and no bad ones so either Audis aren't as bad as reputed or I have been
very lucky). This isn't meant to be a slam on Volvos...but they are
reputed to be ultra safe and reliable and semi-reasonable to maintain,
and they are. But, in my own experience the Audis I have owned have been
all that, and more, and are generally more fun too.
