More '85 5000cst automatic questions

Thanks to all you audi gurus out there for you advice on my '85 5000 cs
turbo pressure leaks , fuel injection and automatic transmission issues.
You have made my life a little easier (not to mension less costly) I
know that my transmission is probably going bye-bye but here is the
question/story anyway.

Per some of your advice, I used in Mobil 1 ATF, replaced the filter and
gasket and using TransX additive, toping off the differential with
synthetic gear lube, my automatic now shifts like new ... seemingly no
slipping or sticking in gear when cold. There is a new problem that is
starting to rear it's ugly head however. In the seven thousand miles
that I have put on the car in the past six years ( I've used it mainly
as a second car), it has squealed like one of the drive belts was
slipping ... I usually noticed it at night more than during the day so I
thought it was the alternator belt slipping due to the extra load from
headlights running... recently, though this squealing noise has come on
after the car warms up day or night and the noise seems to be coming
from the transmission area. It comes on regardless of temperature or how
long the car has been driven. It squeals like a badly slipping drive
belt when the car is fully warmed up. Especially when I pull into my
driveway after driving home from work.
The noise seems to go away if I put the transmission from Drive to
Reverse but if I put it
into Neutral and rev the engine, the squealing comes back. It doesn't
seem to squeal when
cold. When I trained the transmission to replace the gasket.... there
was a trace of metal
filings in the fluid ... the car has 127000 original miles on it so the
level of filings to me seemed borderline normal if the fluid had not
been flushed for a long time. I did notice that
the old filter actually had small performations in it leading me to
believe that it either corroded
from oxidation or that the holes were actually created by the fluid
being saturated with metal
filings at one point and the hydraulic pump actually ripping these holes
in the filter as a result
of extreme negative pressure buildup. The filings then kept circulating
throughout the tranny
causing more and more damage as time went on. ... As I said, the
shifting is perfect but for
about 500 miles of when I owned it, the car started to stick in first
when cold and a slip
started to happen in 3rd at around 85mph ... I was always gentle on it
during this time and those problems have gone away, for now, thanks to
the advice I got on this board.

Any advice on what this squealing noise could be would be greatly
appreciated ... I hope
with the new maintenance page on this site ... many of these redundant
questions could
be eliminated. I'm sure this one has been answered many times. I wish I
could more easily
search past discussions so I don't waste anyones time.

Thanks again ... by the way, if anyone is interested, this car is for
sale in the Denver area.
It has only 127,000 original miles on it because, as I have said, I has
been a second car for
the past six years. If you look at the ad, you'll see that I have kept
up with it at least along
the mechanical side. If I didn't have a '73 fiat 850 project car, I
would definitly keep this one
around but I have a 90 200 TQ Wagon coming so there is no room left for
the 5000.
