... I'd recommend against messing with sensor connections at all.  Unless
done with extreme care any additional wiring and switches can lead to faulty
readings, which may lead to improper operation.  On the urquattro Audi
soldered the intake temp (IAT) sensor directly to the loom to minimize this
effect.  Someone else suggested switching wires to an ECU output ... to me
this would be more preferrable.  The caveat there is to make sure that the
ECU cannot detect the intentional fault and set a permanent code that
requires a VAG1551 to clear ...
