4KS no start

My trusty fallback car, the somewhat 85 Jetta, exhibited the same symptoms
just last week.  I use it for a loaner to a rather large and eclectic group
of friends.  One bad plug wire (replaced the set), particularly nasty cap,
questionable rotor, and it would then start.  Next morning, no start again.
Replaced the Bosch platinums that have made 4 trips across the country (and
back) in the last 12 months, and it's its old self.  Glad it didn't happen
the week before on the road to/from North Carolina!  Don't overlook the
basics.  I would definitely look for air leaks and the like, but I'd sure
look at the electricals as well.  John
