Having a '95 S6 and having had a '93 4.2L V8 I can tell you that the
radios and 10 disk CD changers are the same in both cars. The Bose
radio head has a button (MODE) to select CD use, and then the CD disk #
and track # show up in the dashboard readout. This does not use a radio
preset and AFAIK does not have anything to do with the radio antenna.
There are buttons on the radio head that change disks up or down, and
the casette tape forward / reverse buttons will change the track
being played.
This 10 disk CD changer is the same as a Sony 10 disk changer, with the
exception that the Audi 10 disk changer has an adapter box on the bottom
(about the size of a pack of cards), that accepts the round plug from the CD
changer and it has a socket for the rectangular plug from the car's wiring
harness.
The 95.5 S6 went to the Delta radio, along with other changes that were
part of the changes on a '96 A6, like changing the rear differential
lock to Electronic Traction Control in the rear, and there were changes
to the window control mechanisms. This 95.5 S6 had a 6 disk CD changer
that is not interchangable with the 10 disk systems.
