Ok, retail book value on a 1989 90 Q is about 5 grand.

On that coupe it's probably 1500 at most.  That's the value with
everything working... I would look for a better example if I were you -
nothing wrong with paying 2k for one that needs tires or a few easy
things to fix, investing $3k in a coupe GT just to make it stock and
work properly... is a bit bizarre.  They are nice cars and all, but not
*that* nice!  For $5k I would expect an under 50,000 mile example that
looks and runs showroom perfect.  And it would still be overpaying!  I
paid $2300 for my '82, needing nothing but the odd ball joint and
bushing a few months later, 8 years ago...

And I presume we are talking about a rust-free example?
