Where to get Valentine 1

I have been using a Bel 945sti  model I purchased it because of a test in a magazine, car and driver or road and track (always get em confused) it was rated a close second to the V1. actual "street" cost was $200 less than the V1. 
the thing is that you have to believe some test, other than the manufacturers claims on the product what do you have to go by?
I have talked to a few people that have the V1 and their biggest complaint is the # of false alerts in the city. 
If you base your purchase on cost  then the K40 should be the best, which it is not! had one in my car. the install on it is great cause you do not have it mounted on your windshield but I think that is all it has going for it.
any ways I was just wondering what makes the V1 the best, was there a certain detector test that you based your opinion on?

Radar detectors are not the be-all-end-all, but the Valentine is simply
the best one out there.  Don't kid yourself into believing anything
cheaper is worthwhile, and don't believe the bogus "test" in Automobile
magazine.
