Keys.. Was Four OFF the Ground?

It's late at night, so I'm not going to go down to the garage to check, but
is Audi the only make that lets you remove the key while the car is in gear?
I always thought this could be a bad thing for suicidal people. You can
remove the key going 80MPH and lock the column..... Just let GOD take over
from there.
I never thought this was an engineering plus on these things. I can only
think that somewhere, a passenger has reached over to shut down the car as a
prank only to find they have the key in their hand.
Most  'Merican cars have an interlock for this.
