Well Taylor, you have to remember the Audi Multiplication Factor. If you
think the job will be an easy striaght forward 1hr job, you have to add in
the AMF and you get a 3hr job. Same with the estimated cost. You think ok
250 bucks to do the clutch. Add in the AMF, and you come up with around $500
which covers the actual clutch parts, plus all the stuff you break, or
"while I'm in there" (new mounts, bolts, building a driveshaft allignment
tool, new tranny fluid, etc.)
This applys to just about everything on the car IME, but that hose shouldn't
be too hard. You can save quite a lot of money if you do it yourself just
like every other repair on anything. Go for it, as long as you put it on the
way it came off, everything will work out.
