In short, you can get away without the knock sensing ignition, et. al., but
you will NOT be geining the maximum benefit from the high compression setup,
partly due to more aggressive timing maps in the CISE3withknock setup. You
can source the engine control from '88 5000, and later 100s among others.

[Which brings me to my next question:
What do i need for a 2.3 nf/ng conversion!! ive sourced an engine with
manifolds, and intend to modify the im to take cis, dont ask why, it just
seems easier. Whats the deal with knock sensing ignition (which i
understand this has) i obviously need the sensors, dizzy, but where would
i
find the ignition computer? it is seperate isnt it? the donor is a late
coupe(or possibly another source is a 100). Any info much appreciated ]
