Apparently, the chinese, which use 5000's as taxis, are interested in
improving mileage. 70mpg is the stated goal, which seems a tad
optimistic, especially seeing the way most taxi drivers drive. Slam
gas pedal. Slam brake. Repeat.
I've always toyed with the idea of a EV conversion in an Audi. The
low drag coefficient of the type44 body would make it ideal, and
there's tons of room everywhere for stuff.
I found it interesting that they ended up using a turbo for the
conversion(note the headlights and trip computer; it's gotta be a
5kCST.) You would have thought they would buy a non-turbo S to
convert.
