034 EFI and MC ignition swap questions

I'd like to ask the ones who did it how complicated it would be to swap only
the ignition side of the MC management system on a 4kcsq-like car (that is
to say my 85 euro coupe quattro with an NA engine)...and what parts of that
system would be involved...
I suppose I'd have to have at least the following parts:

-spark dist
-ECU
-wiring harness and sensors



What more would be needed for this? Is it possible to run the MC spark
system without the fuel system ever knowing it just like in NG/NF engined
cars (like Javad did on his 80tq?)?
