Well, A4's weigh quite a bit. They're heavier, by about 100lb, than
my enormous 200 quattro 20v turbo(it's larger than an A8, inside and
out) depending upon the trim level; the -new- a4 1.8t with manual and
quattro runs around 3400lb. I'm not sure, but I think the older A4's
were heavier? The V6 certainly is; the new 3.0 is listed
w/manual+quattro as 3583.
According to a quick search with google, the 1997 Talon weighed in at
3100lb. The '91 TSi was around 2990 if I read a seperate page
correctly.
That's one -major- reason why the A4 feels slower. Another would be
Talon HP figures seem to be in the 190-200hp ballpark depending upon
the vintage...something it takes at least a chip to get to in an A4
1.8t.
