Tiptronic question

No, the Tiptronic trannies used in different models are not the same.
"Tiptronic" really only refers to the electronic control of the shifting
characteristics and the driver-controlled "manual shift" mode.  The
basic tranny hardware is just a regular slushbox, but of course
different cars are fitted with different units suitable for the
purpose.  Think of an analogy: All new Audis now have ABS, but they
don't all have the same brake hardware.
