Yep, and there is no O either.

I was at the title place getting the tax value of my Coupe (they number
they base the sales tax in a private party sale here in NC, they don't
trust your bill of sale price,) and gave her the VIN, telling her I don't
know if this is a 1or l, and if this one is a 0 or O, and she replied that
they don't use those letters in VINs just to prevent confusion.  So if you
are looking at a VIN, it is always the numbers 1 and 0, not the letters l
and O.
