In the US, some guy did his own version of the R5 T2 called the Shogun.
It was a Kia Subcompact hatch with an "F" name (not the Fiesta, which was
at least a neat car for it's time) with a Taurus SHO V-6 wedged in place
of the rear seats. Wild UrQ like flares, etc befitted the body. I believe
Car and Driver said just about the same thing about it....
