Maybe they're synonymous with the clutch release bearing shown in
Bentley?????  The noise troubleshooting section of the Bentley suggests
several sources of strange sounds made at idle independent of clutch
operation that have to do with distortion of clutch parts.  Checking any of
them, of course, requires clutch removal.
