starter?

An old trick, try giving the starter a couple of solid knocks with a hammer,
or piece of wood. If it does start, this should confirm that it is "on it's
way out" and you better replace it soon. This works if your starter motor
brushes are worn down to the point where they no longer make good contact.
By tapping it, you give them that extra little bit of motion which gives
them the contact they need. You might get a couple more starts out of it.
