newbie has 85 4KQ no start problem---help

Hi.  My 85 4k quattro will crank forever and not start.  Then, sometimes, o=
ut of the blue, I'll give it a try and it fires right up anjd drives fine. =
 Once it is running it will not stall, but may not start again once shut do=
wn for any length of time.  Cold or Hot, same thing.  Any ideas?   Where is=
 the fuel pump relay?  What does it look like?  Help appreciated.  Thanks
