I concur. Yup, I like performance as much as the next guy, but w/today's
high-tech diesels, one can have cake and eat it too. Unfortunately, here in
CA, they're not even allowed to be sold! Apparently their emissions are
still not kosher w/CARB's rules. But a big, stinky, out of maintainence
city bus? Sure, go ahead, make a hole. (in the ozone)
I think I read that w/emissions in new cars going down over the past few
years, 90% of smog gasses/pollutants are caused by only 10% of vehicles and
factories. Vehicles being trucks, busses, old crappy cars not kept in
shape, etc. So where are the laws on those? Cars seem to be a success, so
let's work on the next step. [rant off] [flame suit on]
