I have to kindof disagree with you here...you are making some huge
generalizations, and some backwards at that.
First off, Polyeurethane is what squeeks, it is terribly noisey. Because
Delrin is self-lubricating, it is much less prone to squeeking, very rare if
it does, and simple grease will cure any small squeeks left. But Delrin will
never squeak like PolyE.
Delrin is not used because its "Cheap" as you say...Delrin has almost zero
deflection, does not cold-flow, holds its shape, dampens resonance, is self
lubricating, affordable, and machinable. It is one of the best bushing
materials around for high performance use. Basically consider it plastic
metal. Factory cars use varying levels of durometer for superior resonance
dampening and minimal SVH, at the expense of major deflection and slop.
Generally, I would not consider PolyE at all if Delrin is an opiton.

<< You want to use Eurethane bushings. Unfortunatley there are a gazillion
different types of Eurethane so finding the perfect hardness is going to be a
task. Eurethane dosen't squeak like delrin and last forever. I would stay
away from delrin as it is way to hard for the street. The big reason that
most bushings are made from delrin is that delrin is cheap and easy to
machine whereas eurethane has to be frozen rock hard to machine it. >>
