You should have resistance in pulling it up, and no resistance down. Whatever you do, DO NOT PUSH DOWN on the air plate. Either my car is running very lean, or, when I lift the fair plate, I get enough fuel to sustain it at idle until it warms up. I believe now, after reading your post, that I have a spring or plunger hanging up somewhere. Can you give me an idea on what you did in the past to resolve this similar problem. Please keep in mind that I only have a Haynes manual, (Useless Manual), the Bentley won't be in for a couple days yet. Please try to give me details and exact locations. Haynes allows for a specific part, but the location is not the same as the book shows. The only thing that I have found to be correct is that the engine is under the hood !!!! Perhaps you can tell me this. T!
here is a

I have the one for the EGR valve disconnected on the left hand side (the EGR valve connection) .......... I can't find the EGR. Where does this hose hook up ?
