Tex Terry,
What Paul suggested I do is first check the air plate. This is done by jum=
ping the fuel pump relay. Remove the rubber boot, and use a magnet to pull=
the fuel plate up. You should have resistance in pulling it up, and no re=
sistance down. Whatever you do, DO NOT PUSH DOWN on the air plate. Either=
my car is running very lean, or, when I lift the fair plate, I get enough =
fuel to sustain it at idle until it warms up. I believe now, after reading=
your post, that I have a spring or plunger hanging up somewhere. Can you =
give me an idea on what you did in the past to resolve this similar problem=
. Please keep in mind that I only have a Haynes manual, (Useless Manual),=
the Bentley won't be in for a couple days yet. Please try to give me deta=
ils and exact locations. Haynes allows for a specific part, but the locati=
on is not the same as the book shows. The only thing that I have found to =
be correct is that the engine is under the hood !!!! Perhaps you can tell=
me this. There is a thermopneumatic valve facing the engine on the right =
rear bottom of the block. One vacuum line goes to the EGR valve, the other=
to the vacuum booster. I have the one for the EGR valve disconnected on t=
he left hand side (the EGR valve connection) .......... I can't find the E=
GR. Where does this hose hook up ?
