you kow, it just occured to me that mine was making a VERY similar sounding
noise. a chirping sound that seemed to emanate from the drivers a pillar
region. it drove me a little nuts while driving, and i could REALLY hear it
when i slammed the drivers door shut.

after having my gf slam the door while i listened, it turned out the fuel
metering head/airbox assy was shaking a bit and causing this high pitched
chirp/warble sound. VERY bird-like =) and it was very loud while i was
driving - as i said it sounded as if it were coming from the base of the
drivers a pillar. i shot a little lube on the mounts and it helped a bit.
ill probably replace the mounts at some point.

i diidnt bother to read if you had deduced that it was an engine noise or
not...
