Who was working on a Real time engine monitoring system?

I remember a year or so ago someone was working on an on board engine stat.
real time display.  I recall the owner had a 5ktq and was creating it so he
could monitor all of the engines vitals real time.  Does anyone else recall?

Or am I just nuts?
