One I would stay away from is Engine Rebuilders of Northglenn. When my
little brother and I were fixing up his 75 bronco, we had this guy do all
the machining for the motor. He came as a reco from one of my brothers
friends who had just rebuilt his AMC AMX using this guy for the motor. He
gave us a good price but then the problems began, after the first 4- 500
miles we started hearing this ticking noise and saw that there was a very
fine grain sand in the radiator spill tank. My brother naturally thought
someone had put dirt in there. After flushing the radiator sev times we
drove it again. then about a week it over heated and collapsed a piston or
so the engine guy said.Upon further exmination the sand was not just mearly
dirt from the ground, but sand from the sand blaster that was used when the
guy machined his motor. To top it all off after another 100 miles the motor
seized up! Yes, oil was in it, faulty bearing was the cause. we tried and
tried to get this guy to honor his warrenty but he kept saying that the sand
was not from his sand blaster and kept ignoring the fact that the engine was
seized. So, off to court we went and finally got the guy to pay the cost of
getting another motor.
Sorry for ranting,
