Type 44 eyebrow-- was oil consumption

Yup, I agree with you on this one...I'll have the leaks fixed then I'll
watch carefully the oil consumption but the valve stem seals seem to be ok
(the PO told me that they had been replaced) as when I fill it with oil and
start the engine immediately there's no smoke on the exhaust side as I've
seen recently in an 85 coupe GT that did a huge blue cloud after we filled
it with oil...

Well, sometimes I can see it in the rearview mirror when I shift into third
at 7000 rpms ....

Well, it's very weird but I don't know where it could come from if the
compression is ok (didn't do a leakdown test as it's pretty difficult to
find the right material to do it in Europe) and it doesn't show signs of
dead stem seals....maybe only the leak???  I must say that it now uses 1
quart every 650 miles with spirited city driving, with careful highway
driving (80-85 mph) it uses a quart every 1500 miles I think....
Oh well, I'll just wait to have the MC in and as it's pretty new it
shouldn't use a lot of oil....
